Palo Verde River Boat

This is one of our best tours for discovering Costa Rica’s

nature and culture ( Great for all ages and physical  conditions

because it doesn’t require hiking.)

It’s about 1 hour away from most resorts of the Papagayo area.

On the way way we will stop by the Tempisque river to see the

extraction of sand for construction using small boats and ox carts.

Then we will travel through sugar cane fields and small towns

until we get to the Palo Verde National Park where we will take a

1 .5 hour boat ride down the Tempisque river. You will spot

crocodiles , many different species of birds, usually White Face and

Howler monkeys and more.

After we will stop at a small farm were you will enjoy an excellent

authentic Costa Rican lunch cooked on an open air wood stove kitchen.

After lunch you can enjoy a pottery demonstration using native

techniques that are thousands of years old. Finally there will be a

short presentation to learn about the sugar cane process!
